Ashvale Oath
★★★★★ 4.6
Ashvale Oath surprised me with how much writing it packs in. It's a turn-based party RPG where you recruit characters across a fractured kingdom, and the dialogue has real personality — I found myself skipping fewer conversations than usual, which for a mobile RPG is high praise.
Combat is the classic menu-driven kind, but with a timing twist: nailing a tap window boosts your attacks. It keeps you present instead of auto-battling everything. The difficulty curve is fair, and you can grind optionally if you want without the game shoving it at you.
It's a bit of a battery eater during longer sessions, and the auto-save could be more frequent. But the story kept me coming back, and the portrait art for each companion is gorgeous.
